Events for Residents, Clients and Tenants

Holiday Party
The highlight of the year for the people we serve is the Holiday Party, hosted by PLACES each December for residents, clients, tenants and their families. Each year men and women who used to live on the streets, in the community’s homeless shelters or in psychiatric hospitals attend the party and participate in social activities including dinner, dancing, a fashion show and karaoke.

The Holiday Party is an excellent opportunity to reinforce many community living skills these individuals have learned throughout the year. The party provides normalization to people who have few financial resources and few social outlets.

Because of the rising demand for services in the community and reductions in funding, PLACES reaches out to the community each year to help offset the cost of this very important event. Donations from generous individuals in our community allow PLACES to stretch its financial resources and enhance the direct services we provide to residents, clients and tenants.

Recognition Reception
At the annual Recognition Reception in February, PLACES recognizes those who have improved their lives by holding a job, going to school, volunteering in the community or taking bold, new steps toward recovery.

Summer Picnic
PLACES hosts a summer picnic so residents, clients and tenants can spend time eating, socializing and enjoying outdoor activities together.

Harvest Party
Residents, clients and tenants enjoy food, games, dancing and a costume contest at the PLACES Harvest Party each October.
